It isn’t Thursday just yet but this is warranted, so TBT to the days they said Zayn Malik will “flop” without One Direction. Yep, that’s right. Back when Zayn Malik parted ways with the ‘biggest boy band in the world,’ a flock of fans – presumably the hurt and pressed ones – went on countless social media rants on why he was “done.” Hmm, little did they know that exactly a year after Malik left One Direction, he would release his debut album which ends up topping Billboard Hot 200, whilst making some notable accomplishments along the way. Say what...more
Miracles do happen. After years of releasing countless good songs, Selena Gomez FINALLY has a Top 5 hit. Bumped up one spot from last week’s No. 1, A$AP Rocky-assisted “Good For You” finally landed the No. 5 position on the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week. This is especially major as Selena Gomez has had not one but TWO songs (“Come & Get It” and “The Heart Wants What it Wants”) reach No. 6, then drop. The best part of it all? Selena Gomez is yet to publicly perform “Good For You,” let alone on television. Nonetheless, her dedicated fans...more
If your favorite artist released an album this past week, it is that time of the week when we find out how well the album did on the charts. The new releases in contention are: James Taylor – “Before The World” | Hilary Duff – “Breathe In. Breathe Out.” | Adam Lambert – “The Original High” | Ryn Weaver – “The Fool” | etc. Last week, Muse’s seventh studio album Drones debuted at No. 1 on the charts. It is dethroned this week by James Taylor’s “Before This World.” “Before This World” released June 15th, marks Taylor’s first release of...more
After nearly 12 years of non-stop hard work, Rachel Platten can finally say she topped iTunes (US). The song’s recent success can be accredited to Platten’s “Fight Song” performance with Taylor Swift, during Swift’s tour stop in Philadelphia, this past weekend. “I have tears in my eyes & my heart is exploding. #FightSong is #1 on iTunes. I kept believing, even when it seemed impossible. And so did u,” the 34-year-old singer-songwriter tweeted. After a fan tweeted that her song had overtaken Taylor’s “Bad Blood” which was previously plastered at No. 1, Platten responded saying: ” I think miss Taylor...more
Talk about a hit record. Fifth Harmony has just scored their first platinum record with their Kid Ink-assisted single “Worth It.” By “platinum,” we mean the single has accumulated one million sales (and streams) in the Unites States alone. “Worth It” is the third single lifted from the group’s debut album “Reflection,” released in February. In addition to scoring the girls – Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui – their first Top 20 hit on Billboard Hot 100, “Worth It” is currently No. 11 on Top 40 (mainstream radio in the United States).
I don’t know how she does it but Taylor Swift has become a BEAST on the charts. Just when we thought she was done in Top 10, she skyrockets to No. 2 on the charts this week. That’s right, Taylor Swift is right back on top. Before we go into detail on how many copies she sold this week, let’s talk about this week’s No. 1 album, the only new album that charts above Taylor Swift’s 1989. The album is by Fueled By Ramen’s Twenty One Pilots. This past week, the musical duo from Columbus, Ohio., released their now No....more
