Zedd teamed up with DJ duo Grey once again to bring us another earworm with “The Middle.” The safe-sounding new track finds country darling Maren Morris ditching her twang to fill in for 2018 Grammy’s Best New Artist Alessia Cara for what is basically 2018’s reboot of 2017’s hit “Stay.” The official music video, sponsored by Target premiered yesterday during The 60th Grammy Awards telecast. With Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, and Zedd releasing new music this Friday, it seems like it’s a battle between the mainstream pop-EDM master class. Zedd’s entry is here in the form of “Stay”, a snappy collaboration with Canadian hitmaker Alessia Cara reminiscent of Banks’ “Poltergeist” and Taylor Swift’s “All You Had To Do Was Stay”. Though Cara is a stranger to this sort of electronic pop/EDM hybrid, the teenage popstar fits right in while hovering on top of Zedd’s future bass-inspired beat with magnetic, instant melodies and a standout vocoder mix in the chorus. “All you have to do is...more
Hailee Steinfeld is all grown-up in her new music video for “Starving”, her newest hit featuring Zedd and up-and-coming producing duo Grey. The visual, directed by Darren Craig (Ke$ha’s “Die Young”, Rihanna’s “What Now”), shows the 19-year old singer performing while surrounded by dancers in a dimly lit warehouse. The song has been climbing the charts, reaching both the Top 10 on iTunes and Pop Radio. Seems like a hit for Steinfeld. Watch the video below.
After several weeks of teasing and a big social media push, Hailee Steinfeld’s collaboration with Zedd and Grey is here. The track starts as a calm acoustic song, accompanied by snaps and Steinfeld’s young voice, but quickly takes a turn into a snazzy drop full of high-pitched vocal chops and heavy 808’s. “I was so much younger yesterday. I didn’t know that I was starving until I tasted you” sings Steinfeld in the chorus. It is still unclear if “Starving” will be part of Steinfeld’s debut album or a standalone song, but it sounds like she’s got an easy hit either way! “Starving”...more
Zedd sure keeps his promises. Incase you missed it, with Kesha’s ongoing legal battles with Sony / Dr. Luke, Zedd offered to make new music with her – for free. “@KeshaRose very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help,” he tweeted Feb. 22. Today, the Grammy-winning producer + DJ, took to his socials to announce the re-release of the title track of his last LP, True Colors. The twist? Kesha offers her very much-missed vocals on the re-worked version of “True Colors.” Fans who were...more
Following his CMT Awards performance, Zedd has premiered the music video for his Jon Bellion-guested single, “Beautiful Now.” “Beautiful Now” is the second single from Zedd’s recently-released album, “True Colors.” The music video, which is now available for viewing on VEVO, was written and directed by Jodeb. Unfortunately, Jon Bellion is not featured in the music video itself (sad face emoji) but it does tell a brilliant story. Oh and “Beautiful” now is on its way to smashing pop radio in the United States. Can’t bloody wait. Watch the music video below!
