Incase you missed the news (not that it matters now), Tink‘s debut album #ThinkTink was rumored to land this July. Till this very day (July 30), there has been no word on the album. With that been said, with little notice, Tink has just dropped her third mixtape, “Winter Diary 3.” As the “3” in the title suggests, this is a continuation from her 2014 mixtape, the reason she’s made it big, “Winter Diary 2.” “Winter Diary 3,” which premiered exclusively on My Mixtapez, features ten songs, one of which is the previously-released “I Like.” Million, Tink’s remake of an...more

Tink is slowly becoming a force to reckon with. Just last month, she was crowned one of the pitches the XXL Freshmen 2015. Today, the music video for her Timbaland-produced Aaliyah-tribute single premiered in New York City’s Times Square at Sony’s FirstViewLive. The Benny Boom-directed music video premiered on VEVO shortly after the premiere in New York City. “Million” has been quite successful, especially since a lot of urban radio DJ’s are supporting the record. It is currently No. 18 on urban radio. Watch the music video below!
After a couple of mixtapes and free songs after that, by this time next month, we would (hopefully) have in our hands Tink‘s debut album. Considering she is Timbaland’s protégé AND extremely talented (believe the hype), the album, tentatively titled “#ThinkTink” is going to be one to have. Lifted off the album is C Sick-produced “I Like,” released today, June 22nd. As the song’s caption reads: “Tink takes us for a smooth ride through her mind, delivering soulfulness and ear-soothing punches along the way.” The goal with this song is to “put us in “the mindset of a “classic” Tink...more

Remember a few weeks back, at SXSW, when Timbaland stated word for word: “She [Aaliyah] spoke to me in my sleep and said, ‘She’s [Tink] the one.” This was said shortly before Tink took the stage at FADER’s SXSW gig, to perform her take of one of Aaliyah’s biggest hits, “One In A Million.” Fast forward to May 2015, the studio version of her cover has just been released and damn, is it FIRE. Now, we know there is no replacing Baby Girl but Tink is pretty freaking amazing! Listen to “Million” below!
Aaliyah isn’t appearing in my dreams like she is in Timbaland’s but I can, without a doubt, say Tink is definitely one to watch. I think the phrase that describes the Chicago-bred best is “multi-threat.” In addition to being incredibly creative, she sings, raps, writes songs, among other things. And wait for it… she’s just nineteen (!) Tink began rapping in her father’s basement studio at the age of 15, at which time her brother assisted her in recording a freestyle over Clipse’s “Grindin.” ” She good!” “She sounds nice!,” are examples of comments that were left after the freestyle...more
