Mar 20 Listen: Macy Maloy – “Dime Store Hipster”

After what seemed like an un-ending hiatus, our fave, Macy Maloy is back to the music scene. At 7pm CST, she released her first piece of all new material in 2015. The song is titled “Dime Store Hipster” and it was very much worth the wait. “Dime Store Hipster” was written by Macy, with help from Liz Rose and Jason Reeves, who also produced the guitar-driven record. The song does a remarkable job showcasing Macy’s vocal talents. “Hey, you don’t need me now / Walking around town like a James Dean drifter,” she sings.

Meet Macy Maloy, one of Warner/Chappell Music’s newest signees. It has been almost two years since the Texan singer-songwriter officially released music but it seems like she has been keeping big plans under wraps. Maloy started writing songs when she was in the second grade and she has not stopped ever since then. Her soulful vocal style and relatable songwriting style turned her into an online sensation with tens of thousands of followers.
