Pop megastar Katy Perry pulled a Beyonce on us all and released a surprise single titled “Rise”. The new single sees Perry straying from her signature bubblegum-pop and adopting a new moodier sound.
Thematically, the song is a classic Katy Perry song, but sonically it marks a few changes. The single was produced by Max Martin and written by Martin, Savan Kotecha & Ali Payami, instead of frequent collaborator Dr. Luke, possibly due to his recent legal issues with pop singer Kesha.

Idols of SM Entertainment have come together to collaborate with UNICEF and other artists by covering John Lennon’s “Imagine” for their ‘A Fair Chance for Every Child’ campaign.
The video features SHINee’s Minho, TRAX’s Jay and J-Min, Exo’s Baekhyun and Chen, Super Junior’s Siwon, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and TVXQ’s Changmin singing Lennon’s iconic song interspersed between footage of children. Other popstars including Katy Perry, Will.I.Am and David Guetta also make appearances too.

OH. EM. GEE. Music’s biggest night, aka The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, is just a few days away and we have never been more excited.
Airing LIVE on CBS at 8|7c, the award ceremony, hosted once again by LL Cool J, will take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8.

Hot off the heels of her record breaking Super Bowl halftime performance, Billboard is reporting that Katy Perry is set to join an ever growing list of performers for this weeks GRAMMY Awards.
In their exclusive report, Billboard state that Perry will be performing a ballad from her recent album ‘Prism’ titled ‘By The Grace of God’.
The performance has not been confirmed by the GRAMMYs team however as we have seen in past years, performers are announced up until the date of the ceremony with some being kept as a surprise, such as Beyoncé more »
The numbers are in and it is safe to say that Katy Perry is truly a queen.
Moments ago, the ratings for her Superbowl Halftime show were released and Katy managed to draw a total of a 48.2 household rating and 118.5 million viewers.
This means she broke Bruno Mars’ record last year, 115.3 million, which at the time was the most-watched halftime performance in Super Bowl history.

Katy Perry took to the stage during halftime of the NFL Super Bowl XLIX today between the Seattle Superhawks and the New England Patriots in Phoenix, Arizona.
Perry wore a number of outfits designed by Jeremy Scott, and was joined on stage by Lenny Kravitz and surprise guest Missy Elliott who joined her in performing Get Your Freak On, and Work It .
Katy performed some of her biggest hits to date including ‘Darkhorse (feat. Juicy J)‘, ‘Teenage Dream‘ and ‘Firework‘ during a production that was seen by approximately 100 million people around the globe.
