After testing the waters with Big Sean for their “TWENTY88” project (which by the way will be getting a sequel), Jhené Aiko returns to the solosphere with “Maniac.” “Maniac” is the first taste of Aiko‘s own forthcoming full-length project, which will arrive sometime in 2017. Unlike her previous laid-back releases, Maniac hears the kinky side of Aiko atop a trap-laden beat, which chops and screws in all the right places. The single’s cover art, in which Aiko is bond in ropes, translates to its Steven Taylor-directed visuals. Per her interview with Billboard, it is inspired by a form of Japanese...more

Jhené Aiko and Big Sean make their late night debut as the duo TWENTY88 on ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ Watch them perform ‘Selfish,’ a song off their self-titled collaborative project, out NOW!
If there was a roster of artists who worked great together, Big Sean and Jhené Aiko will be placed up, high up. Beware, I’m Gonna Be, I Know, the list of dope af records the duo have created together just goes on and on. Earlier this week, in true revelation that there is in fact a God, Jhené Aiko and Big Sean announced their collaborative project, which they dubbed “TWENTY88.” Launching a campaign on their social media accounts as well as an account with the “TWENTY88” name, the duo announced their self-titled 8-track collective was to land 4/1 (April 1st)....more
Just the other day, it hit me that we have not received solo music from Jhené Aiko since her debut album in 2014. If you are also just coming to the realization, you are in luck. Moments ago, Jhené Aiko took to Apple Music’s Beats1 to premiere a brand new track, presumably from her sophomore album. The track, entitled B’s & H’s (Bitches & Hoes), was produced by Jhené‘s frequent collaborators, The Fisticuffs. Classically Jhené, B’s & H’s hears a minimal but sublime production, with a resounding focus placed on Jhené and the story about ho’s she’s telling. Long story...more
In October, Disney will release a compilation album titled “We Love Disney.” The eagerly-anticipated album will feature some of today’s most popular artists, the likes of Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Gwen Stefani, as they cover tracks off some Disney’s classics. Today (Sept 21), Jhené Aiko‘s contribution to the album surfaced online. Aiko belts “In A World of My Own / Very Good Advice,” a mashup up of two songs from one of Disney’s biggest feature films, Alice In Wonderland. The original lyrics aren’t tweaked per se but Aiko does give a modern feel to the tracks, one of which was...more
As far as random collaborations go, this takes the cake. After days of getting fans to “unlock” the record, Pop-Tarts® has shared the collaboration [a song] between Jhené Aiko, Rixton, and Jessie J. The song, titled “Sorry to Interrupt” was produced by the one and only Dj-Mustard. “Pop-Tarts® brought Jessie J, Jhené Aiko and Rixton together to create the hot, new song “Sorry To Interrupt” for Crazy Good™ Summer! Check out the lyric video, then watch how it all came to life at CrazyGoodSummer.com!,” read the video’s caption.
Once again, Jhené Aiko proves that she is one of the best when it comes to visuals. Just released is the music video for her song, “Eternal Sunshine,” featured on her debut album, Souled Out. From the fatal car crash she was in in 2013 to losing her brother to cancer, Jhené reflects one some of the terrible things she has had to overcome in this life. Through these trying times, Jhené reminds herself to focus on the good things that life has to offer. Jay Ahn directed the music video and of course the song was written and performed...more
