It’s April. You know what that means? Drake’s eagerly-anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Views From The 6’ is slated to be released. Back in January, Drake quenched our album thirst with the album’s lead single, Summer Sixteen. Ever since, it’s been dead silent – until now, that is. The 6God himself just dropped not one but two brand new tracks, all of which feature some top names. The first track, entitled ‘Pop Style,’ available now via Apple Music, features Kanye West and..wait for it, JAY Z! On ‘Pop Style,’ Ye and Jigga are credited as ‘The Throne,’ a reference to their since-platinum...more

Nicki Minaj is either trolling us (as always) or she just revealed she has a new song with JAY Z coming out in three days. As you probably already know, Nicki always finds time in her busy days to interact with her fans and today was no different. A fan asked, “What about that JAY Z collab??” She responded saying “It’s coming in 3 more days.” The tweet was deleted almost immediately which could mean one of two things: she’s trolling us or she wasn’t supposed to say anything, at least not yet. Either way, we are pretty excited to...more
Jay Z took to Twitter on Sunday to respond to criticism of his new music streaming venture TIDAL. Since its launch less than a month ago (March 30 to be exact), the service and the 16 high profile owners have received backlash from a variety of different people. The main arguments have been that the owners are already rich so they’re just being greedy (mostly written by people using the latest smartphone that they bought from a $700+ billion dollar company) or that they don’t feel like they should pay for the service when there are other free ones available...more
As we reported last night, the streaming service JAY Z acquired, now referred to as “TIDAL,” launched today, March 30. In celebration of its launch, today in New York City, there was a very star-studded press conference / launch event. By star-studded, we mean Beyoncé, JAY Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Coldplay, Madonna, Alicia Keys, and many many more were not only in attendance, they signed the service’s declaration LIVE. One of TIDAL’s selling points, that is excluding the fact that is “combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial,” is...more
Incase you missed it, JAY Z acquired a Scandinavian music streaming company for $56 million. The streaming service was not only renamed “Tidal,” it was fully integrated with popular Norwegian music platform, WiMP. Earlier this month, Showbiz 411 reported a meeting between Jay Z and some of the music industry’s greatest, the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and more. According to Showbiz, the subject of the meeting, which was held GRAMMY weekend, was “how they could turn Aspiro — now Tidal – into a streaming music and video service akin to the old United Artists pictures,...more
Earlier this month we introduced a new segment to you guys titled, “Mashup Monday.” This is just our way of featuring some really awesome mashups of all of our favorite songs that we’ve found around the internet and such! We kicked things off with three awesome mixes. The first mix was a mashup of Jay Z’s “99 Problems” & Ariana Grande‘s “Problem Featuring Iggy Azalea,“ and it was (and still is) absolutely amazing! The 2nd track was a mixture of Miguel’s “Sure Thing” & Nicki Minaj‘s “The Crying Game Featuring Jessie Ware.” And the final track was a mashup of Ryn Weaver’s Octahate and Troye Sivan’s Touch,...more
What is a mashup? Google defines a mashup as: a mixture or fusion of disparate elements. a recording created by digitally combining and synchronizing instrumental tracks with vocal tracks from two or more different songs. Which essentially means that some songs are destined to be together. Whether they have the same BPM or similar titles/lyrics. It just needs to happen and that’s where mashup’s come in. So all of us here at Trendio decided to supply you all with a few awesome mashups every now and then. Here is our first installment. Enjoy!
