Last week, following a couple of full length leaks, Madonna dropped her 13th studio album, “Rebel Heart.” The album came preceded but “Living For Love,” a single that did OK on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Also released last week was the soundtrack for FOX’s hit new drama series, Empire. The soundtrack featured 18 songs, a few of which had already debuted in Top 100 on iTunes (US). With the success of Empire and Madonna’s time as an entertainer in the music industry, it was unclear, at least until now, who would land atop the weekly sales chart.

Mar 03 Empire: Music from S01E06 (Unto the Breach)

Last week, we didn’t get to make an Empire music post because the episode featured variations of “You’re So Beautiful,” which we already heard a week before. That, however, didn’t stop last week’s episode from rising once again in ratings. “The Lyon’s Roar” drew a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating with 13.90 million viewers, yet another series high. Anyhow, back to regularly scheduled programming. This week’s episode is titled “Unto the Breach” and it will air tomorrow, March 4, at 9|8c on FOX. Our favorites – V. Bozeman and Serayah Mcneill – are back this week. V. Bozeman sings a song...more

Feb 03 Empire: Music from S01E05 (Dangerous Bonds)

Exciting(!) The episode of Empire that airs tomorrow features three original songs. The episode is titled Dangerous Bonds and it airs at 9|8c on FOX. I have listened and “Drip Drop,” one of the songs from “Dangerous Bonds,” sang by Yazz and Serayah McNeill, is an instant hit. Timbaland is doing a phenomenal job with the music from Empire. Also featured in this episode is “Keep Your Money,” performed by Lucious’ older son, Jamal (Jussie Smollett). Tomorrow’s episode features a guest appearance from Anthony Hamilton (as himself),

The song is titled “Keep It Movin'” and it was performed very close to the end of the episode. Also featured in this episode is “Hustle Hard” which is performed by Jim Beanz.
