Jan 06 Listen: Ed Sheeran – “Castle on the Hill” + “Shape of You”

Today is a really good day. Not only because it is Friday but also because Ed Sheeran is finally back, rejuvenated and shockingly even better than he ever was with a brand new album christened “÷” (as in Divide). Up until the actual release, which was moments ago, fans of Ed Sheeran were waiting in anticipation for the title of his comeback single(s), so much so that when the snippets he posted on social media where Shazam’ed, all that was shown was a callback image hinting towards a presumed massive release. After taking one whole year of cleansing from social...more

Dec 24 Listen: Ed Sheeran Performs Gaelic Version of “Thinking Out Loud”

Ed Sheeran might be on a break from social media, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still making music. Or in this case, recreating his songs in different languages. Yesterday, Irish radio station RTÉ 2fm released Ed’s version of “Thinking Out Loud” in gaeilge and we’re even more obsessed with it than we were before. The song is part of a compilation titled CEOL 2016 le hEoghan McDermott. The album includes artists like Ed, Riptide Movement and Delorentos performing their songs in gaeilge. Not only does it raise awareness for the Irish language, but it also makes it fun to learn....more

Oct 21 Listen: Rudimental & Ed Sheeran – “Lay It All On Me”

Rudimental has released a new track featuring friend Ed Sheeran titled “Lay It All On Me”. This is the second collaboration the drum & bass band from London and Ed have released after their remix of “Bloodstream”. If there’s one thing that can be said about all of Rudimental’s songs, it’s that they’re catchy from the first listen. This song has been stuck in my head all week! Produced by Rudimental themselves, “Lay It All On Me” is a fun, beachy, end-of-summer dance anthem. The thick drum beats matched with Ed’s sweet voice are a great blend and the breakdown...more

Aug 05 Listen: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Growing Up (Sloane’s Song) feat. Ed Sheeran

The last we heard of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, they were breaking records with their debut album, The Hiest. The endless drags, after their 2013 GRAMMY wins, led the American hip hop duo to lay low, until now. Today sees the release of the duo’s first song in a while, “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song).” The Ed Sheeran-guested track is a lullaby to Macklemore’s baby girl, born May 29th. The slow-paced track, available for free download, is the quintessential Macklemore & Ryan Lewis track, much like “Same Love,” subtle but perfect.
