Capitol Records’ Niykee Heaton brought the heat to the Music is Universal Showcase Day 2, which took place at the J.W Marriott in Austin, Tx. The 21-year-old performed a set consisting of songs off her debut album, which is aptly titled The Bedroom Tour Playlist. A massive line of anxious fans could be seen just minutes before the doors opened at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, TX last night. The reason for their excitement was no other than Welsh popstar Marina and the Diamonds. With a glittery, hippie-esque intro song appropriately titled “Flower Girl Intro”, Garrett Borns, best known as BØRNS, took the stage a little after midnight to the delight of his wide variety of fans. Australian hit-maker James Keogh, best known as Vance Joy, played a sold out show at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, TX last Monday, April 28. The opening acts were Los Angeles/Austin based duo Armstrong Leigh and Icelandic folk-rock band Kaleo. Reminiscent of a young Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, Michelle Armstrong and Cristopher Leigh, best known as Armstrong Leigh, took the stage first.
