Big big day yesterday. The nominees for the The 87th Academy Award, better known as The Oscars, were announced. As you would expect, some of the best movies that were released this past year are nominated. Selma, The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, Boyhood, are amongst the recurring nominations. On the music side of things, one of the major categories of the big night will be ‘Best Original Song.’ The nominated songs are all lead singles off the soundtracks of some of the top movie mentioned above.

The 72nd Golden Globes are scheduled for January 11, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California. Early hours of Thursday morning, the 2015 Golden Globe nominees were revealed by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Among the categories revealed were “Best Original Song in Motion Picture” and “Best Original Score, Motion Picture.” The two major music categories.
