Jun 07 Featured: Catfish and the Bottlemen

If you’ve been following Trendio for awhile, you know we’re MASSIVE Catfish and the Bottlemen fans. Despite loving them, the four-piece rock band from Llandudno have never graced our Artist of the Week, and we think that it’s about high time they are. Especially since their second record, The Ride, was just released to high, high, high and very well deserved praise. So what makes Catfish so special? Is it the absolutely killer guitar riffs? The songs about girls? The black and white, rock and roll aesthetic that makes them look like absolute badasses? Well, a mixture of all of...more

May 30 Catch-Up: Big Weekend 2016

Couldn’t find your way to Exeter for Big Weekend over the weekend for two days of free, glorious music hosted by BBC Radio 1? Or just couldn’t get tickets in the mad rush? Don’t worry; us too. But at least we can all thank god for all of the videos that Radio 1 have shared on their YouTube channel. So pull up an inflatable lawn chair, put on your short shorts and sunglasses, and let’s all vicariously live through the glimpses we get. And don’t forget: there’s always next year! Here’s hoping the moving festival comes to a town...more

Apr 20 Listen: Catfish and the Bottlemen – “7”

Catfish and the Bottlemen are on a roller coaster that only goes up. Not only are they on tour — and they’re so popular that they’ve had to add extra dates — but they released a new single, “7”, last night. Bondy and Van visited Annie Mac last night to talk about the new song, which was her ‘Hottest Record in the World’ of the night. Catfish had been playing this song on tour since last October, so it’s amazing to hear a high-quality, studio version instead of having to listen to distorted YouTube clips. As for the meaning behind...more

Mar 23 Album: Catfish and The Bottlemen Announce “The Ride”

British rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen took to Twitter last night to reveal the title, tracklist and release date of their new album. The sophomore release is called The Ride and will be out on the 27th of May. The band also posted a picture of the album cover, which is an alligator (or a crocodile?) biting its own tail, as well as shared the music video for their current single “Soundcheck”. Woosh. Busy night! Catfish recorded the album in LA with producer Dave Sardy, who’s worked with bands like Oasis, Brand New and on films like Zombieland and 21....more

Nov 07 Review: Catfish and the Bottlemen at Brixton

The lights dim in Brixton Academy at 9:15pm. There’s a deafening roar from 4,921 fans smashed together in the sold out arena, some drunk and others giddy, but the stage itself is quiet. There’s electricity in the air – an impending excitement that the night’s about to kick off – but no movement onstage. Then it starts: The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter,” complete with a furious show of sporadic, blinding white and golden lights and howling McCartney vocals. And it’s not until that’s over that Catfish and the Bottlemen storm the stage. And from that exact moment until the last wailing...more
