Bibi Bourelly took the world by storm in 2015, when she snagged writing credits for Bitch Better Have My Money, Rihanna’s biggest hit off her ANTI record. Building on the momentum, Bibi released an insta-grat track Riot, which was quickly followed with a solid debut single, entitled Ego. Following up the aforementioned tracks, Bibi took to Apple Music’s Beats1 to premiere yet another stunning track, Sally. With the groundwork laid, Bibi has now announced her first-ever collective, an EP which is titled “Free The Real.” On May 6, the first installment of the EP will land, along with 5 songs...more

As we said when we first featured her, if Bibi Bourelly is a glimpse of what’s to come with pop music, the future is extremely bright. Following the release of two brilliant tracks, Riot and Ego, Bibi returns today with Sally, another excerpt from her forthcoming debut EP, due out sometime this year! Premiering on Beats1 and penned by the one and only Bibi at age 19, highlights some of the struggles of dealing with people and their (sometimes) unwarranted opinions. Of the single, Bourelly told The 405: “[Sally] is basically what I wish someone would have said to me...more

If you’re like me, you found out about Bibi Bourelly sometime last year, particularly when her name was attached to Rihanna’s biggest hit in 2015, Bitch Better Have My Money. (Fun Fact: because of the faith Kanye West had in Bibi’s talent, he got Rihanna to accept #BBHMM, a song she had previously rejected). Having gotten her money from Rih Rih, Bibi Bourelly teamed up with Usher and Nas for an even more powerful collaboration, a song entitled Chains. Chains, which premiered exclusively on TIDAL, hears the trio rail through some of the injustices blacks face in and out of...more
2015 has been so good to me. It’s ridiculous. Every time I sit and reflect on how many good artists I discovered this year, I weep. My most recent discovery is Bibi Bourelly. For many of you, especially the Rihanna fans, that name should be familiar as she penned one of Rihanna’s biggest hits this year, “Bitch Better Have My Money.” The acclaim that arose from BBHMM boosted Bourelly’s confidence as an artist and for the first time since she surfaced, instead of handing over the songs she wrote, she sings them herself. After joining Usher and Nas on “Chains,”...more
