Artist of the Week: Litany
Harrogate, England

Trendio’s Artist of The Week is finally back and we are honored to introduce you to two-piece pop duo Litany.

Litany is comprised of Beth Cornell and Jack Nicolaides.

The Harrogate-based outfit, whose EP “4 Track” is out now, finds the center of their sound in tidy beats, bubbling vocals and honest storytelling. Standout track “Bedroom” touches on the vulnerability and eagerness one feels when inviting someone to share an intimate moment.

Disguised with shy tones and pop-leaning pulsating synths, the narrator tries to blur out their keenness by providing their object of affection with seemingly naive, but suggestive propositions. “If you wanna come to my place then / We can talk about the weather. If you wanna come to my house then / You can meet my parents. If you wanna come to bedroom”, sings Litany for the track’s earworm of a hook.

Other EP tracks include dream-pop lead single “Flaws”, “I Said”, “Bedroom” and “PS2”, along with 4 instrumental interludes that sum up to create a diverse soundscape and repertoire.

“We wanted our first EP to represent us in the most open, honest and authentic way possible so it was important for each song to encapsulate a key moment in one another’s lives. We’re most interested in real-life, everyday stories that relate to everyone so the aim was to combine that with music” says Litany about “4 Track.”
