New Releases Listen: Camila Cabello – “Crying In The Club” Posted by Haley • May 18, 2017

Right before 2016 ended, Camila Cabello announced her departure from what has been dubbed the biggest girl group in the past decade – Fifth Harmony.

Though it became official in December, Cabello had collaborated with other artists outside of the quintet, the likes of Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly.

Now standing on her own two feet, Cabello has marked her territory in pop’s coliseum with the unveiling of her brand new single, first-ever song with just her vocals, “Crying In The Club.” Per the writeup that anchored the single’s announcement, “Crying In The Club,” lifted off her forthcoming debut album, “The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving.” came about a little over a year ago, when Cabello was going through pain, which she describes as “uncomfortable to talk about.” She adds: “It was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud.”

For a song that came about under such sad circumstances, “Crying In The Club” is certainly bop-worthy. Produced by the iconic Benny Blanco, the track hears writing credits from Cabello and Sia, who also seems to have inspired the way Camila sings on the track. The track isn’t due out till May 19th, but it seems streaming service TIDAL released it a bit earlier than they should have. Hear it right here!
