Concert Review SXSW: Maggie Rogers at Music is Universal Posted by Jesus A. • March 17, 2017

2016’s overnight sensation Maggie Rogers made her way down to Austin, TX for the South by Southwest music festival yesterday March 16.

After a Pharrell endorsed career launch, Rogers proved that she can stand on her own with the release of her debut EP titled Now That The Light is Fading earlier this year. Her live performance serves as validation to this point as well. The Maryland native performed a 30-minute set including songs from her new EP, a guitar-based song titled “Little Joys” from her times as a folk singer, and a gorgeous electro-pop cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”.

Rogers, talented as she is sweet and soft spoken, is one of SXSW’s most talked about artists this year. Seeing her live show gives us enough reasons to understand why plenty think she is one of the most exciting new artists of the past few years.
