K-Pop Watch: SM Artists Collab with UNICEF for New Campaign Posted by Emlyn • June 30, 2016

Idols of SM Entertainment have come together to collaborate with UNICEF and other artists by covering John Lennon’s “Imagine” for their ‘A Fair Chance for Every Child’ campaign.

The video features SHINee’s Minho, TRAX’s Jay and J-Min, Exo’s Baekhyun and Chen, Super Junior’s Siwon, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and TVXQ’s Changmin singing Lennon’s iconic song interspersed between footage of children. Other popstars including Katy Perry, Will.I.Am and David Guetta also make appearances too.

The artists’ cover does a gorgeous job of uniting people all around the world to join in on an important cause: ending child poverty. “The Convention on the Rights of the Child asked us all to imagine a better world for children – and calls on all of us to make that vision a reality,” said UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake about the campaign.

A symbol of peace in its on right, John Lennon’s “Imagine” is the perfect song choice. It is a song that traverses all country and language barriers and it is a simple song with a simple mission: peace and love for ourselves and for one another.
