Video Video: Rihanna (Feat. Drake) – “Work” Posted by Staff at Trendio • February 22, 2016

Throwback to 2010.

Times were very different, so much simpler.

Obama was president, the National average cost for a gallon of Gas was $2.73 and Apple had just released the iPhone 4 and the iPad.

Rihanna and Drake had also collaborated for the first time on the record “What’s My Name?” The track made it’s debuted at #83 on Billboards Hot 100 only to jump to number one three weeks later. Making this record Rihanna’s eighth number-one single on the chart and Drake’s first. It was a smash single and it was played on the radio every 5 seconds and the video was played every morning on MTV back when MTV still played music videos kind of.

Fast forward 6 years to the present where we’re in the middle of a music streaming service war between Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal. Gas is now below $2. across the nation and Obama is in the final months of his term for his last presidency.

On the bright side both Rih Rih and Drizzy have come together AGAIN for another collab titled, “Work,” from Rihanna’s 8th album, “ANTI.” There is a bit of controversy on the album’s chart performance, but we won’t get into that.

Technically, “Work” is the first single from the album considering how “American Oxygen,” “FourFiveSeconds,” and “B*tch Better Have My Money” sadly aren’t on the album. “Work” has debuted at #9 and has so far peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, making it Rihanna’s 27th and Drake’s 15th top ten entry on the chart.

Late last week Rih rih dropped a little teaser for the video. And after the longest weekend ever the music video is finally here. And the best part is that t’s actually two music videos in one. Just wait for the 3:45 minute mark!
