Incase you missed it, JAY Z acquired a Scandinavian music streaming company for $56 million.

The streaming service was not only renamed “Tidal,” it was fully integrated with popular Norwegian music platform, WiMP.

Earlier this month, Showbiz 411 reported a meeting between Jay Z and some of the music industry’s greatest, the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and more.

According to Showbiz, the subject of the meeting, which was held GRAMMY weekend, was “how they could turn Aspiro — now Tidal – into a streaming music and video service akin to the old United Artists pictures, in which artists would actually profit from their art and put out quality material.”

In a matter of hours, TIDAL will officially launch in a lot of countries, including the United States.

Two paid subscription options are available: $19.99 a month for high-fidelity audio, and $9.99 for standard quality audio. Additionally, TIDAL can be streamed on the web and downloaded on iOS and Android devices.

Head over to twitter will we wait for the service to launch, because something big is most definitely happening. Jay Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, and many others involved in the deal changed their Twitter icons, cover photos and they also tweeted.
