There is a new girl group fresh off this block. They are Amor Kismet, an Atlanta-based sister singing trio.
As a group, they go by Amor Kismet, individually, they are Erika, Crystal, and LJ.
In a recent interview with Global Grind, the girls revealed the inspiration behind their name.
“‘Amor’ is a word from the Spanish language and ‘Kismet’ has Arabic origins, Erika stated. “The words mean ‘love’ and ‘fate’ and we wanted to put those together since it’s love’s fate that we’re three sisters who are all musical.”
In addition to receiving praise from the one and only Bill Werde (Billboard, Rolling Stone), BET named Amor Kismet artists to watch. We couldn’t agree more.
What is so fascinating about this group, you maybe wondering? Well, for starters, not only did they cowrite every song on their newly-released EP, The Love, they also participated in its production.
Not to mention, the girls of Amor Kismet sure have good taste in music, considering they are influenced by artists like Aaliyah, Rihanna, and Sade.
As previously mentioned, they have an EP titled “The Love” out right now. It has only four songs (unfortunately), but it enough to make you fall in love with Amor Kismet.
Find a couple minutes in your day to stream the EP below. It will be very much worth it.
