Chet Faker is a 26 year old Electronic/Alternative tag hailing from Melbourne, Australia. He spent his early years busking on the streets of his home city before making a name for himself with his cover of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’. Going viral online, his cover went on to be used in the Beck’s Sapphire commercial during the 2012 SuperBowl.
Faker went on to sign with Downtown Records in 2012 and released multiple EP’s, collecting various independent awards along the way before releasing his debut album ‘Built On Glass’ in April this year.
Debuting at Number 1 on Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart and being certified Gold, his debut has seen his status grow in the Australian music scene. Most significantly he received 9 nominations at this years ARIA Music Awards, where he took home 5 awards including Best Independent Release & Best Male Artist.
Following in the footsteps of Sia, Iggy Azalea & 5 Seconds of Summer, could Chet Faker be the next Australian tag to make a splash in the US?
