Listen: Scott Helman – “21 Days”

I subscribed to Scott Helman’s newsletter a little while ago (actually, no it’s been two years since), and today, for the first time in a really really long time, subscribing paid off.

After what seemed like a hiatus, Helman notified his fans via social media and said newsletter that he was finally releasing new-ish music.

The email read: “Hi everyone! I know it’s been a while, and I hate to keep you waiting, so here is a song that some of you may know already.” He continued: “I wrote it for some comfort and more »

We started our week with an exciting new release by up-and-coming indie-pop duo joan.

joan is a duo, comprised of Alan Thomas and Steven Rutherford, hailing from a small town in Little Rock. The pair only met recently and quickly discovered the musical chemistry between them that led to the creation of the group.

Their debut single “take me on” was co-produced by Tim Pagnotta, responsible for hits such as Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance” and COIN’s “Talk Too Much”. The track replicates the shimmery, feel-good atmosphere of the aforementioned tracks and fuses them more »

Tinie Tempah is truly on a roll this year. Every song he has released leading up the arrival of his Youth album, due out January 27, has been nothing short of fantastic.

For his latest release, a song titled “Text From Your Ex,” the British rapper enlisted the one and only Tinashe, elevating the track to pop-tastic heights.

Staying through to its London roots but still making very much satisfactory to the listening ears of outsiders, “Text from Your Ex” takes on problems that arise from messages to a spiteful ex whilst in a more »

Sweden’s finest Zara Larsson is currently readying her debut album, still yet to be titled but due out later this year.

Following the release of “I Would Like” and “Ain’t My Fault,” some of the finest pop music released last year, Larsson has unveiled a brand new single, “So Good.”

    WATCH: BANKS -“Trainwreck”

    WATCH: BANKS -“Trainwreck”

Electropop singer-songwriter BANKS continues her string of dark-themed, chilly music videos with her newest one for “Trainwreck” off her 2016 album The Altar.

The visual, directed by fashion filmmaker Marie Schuller, follows BANKS as she is being haunted by a trio of masked half-humanoid film directors. Though the meaning of the video is unclear, it feels like a commentary on the dark side of the film industry and how people in power try to manipulate young women.

At the end of the video, the “Gemini Feed” singer is able to defeat them and goes for more »

    Listen: SZA – “Drew Barrymore”

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A DRILL. SZA HAS RELEASED A NEW SONG ON ITUNES. AND BY NEW, WE MEAN BRAND NEW.

The song is titled “Drew Barrymore” (no, we’re absolutely not kidding) and it is more than likely an outtake from her forthcoming album, CTRL. “Drew Barrymore” comes on the heels of SZA’s debut appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight (Jan. 12).

The surprise release is a nostalgic one, haunting in its buttery smooth approach as it takes the listener on a memorable journey to cloud nine.
